VIDEO: Watch Josh Barnett & Daniel Cormier Spend 40 Minutes Answering Questions About MMA
On May 19 the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix will coming to a conclusion as Josh Barnett and Daniel Cormier are set to battle in the main event from the HP Pavilion in San Jose, CA. The fight has been anticipated for some time but timing conflicts and a hand injury suffered by Cormier made the bout difficult to schedule. With roughly three weeks until the fight, both Barnett and Cormier were in Atlanta last week for UFC 145 and sat down together to answer questions from the MMA media about their upcoming fight along with an abundance of other topics.
Josh Barnett
“I stopped a long time ago caring about specifically who I fought and only gave a damn if they were willing enough to sign their name to dotted line. Cause I’ve had plenty of people not be winning to face me in the ring, in the cage, whatever in Japan, the United States. You can’t make fights happen.”“If you’ve never been to a PRIDE show, sorry. That shit’s over, so, you missed something really cool.”
Daniel Cormier
“If I’m an underdog then it’s just because of the things that he’s accomplished in the sport. I mean, but as I say time and time again, the bookies and the people who make these odds don’t fight, we do. I got to go into the cage on May 19th and take care of business. I mean, all that other stuff it just doesn’t really concern me.”“The winner of this thing is going to be, you know, way up there in the rankings.”
