UFC on FX 5 Preview: 20 Facts About Friday’s Event

The event is headlined by an heavyweight bout of Travis Browne vs. Antonio Silva and can be seen on live on FX in the United States and Rogers Sportsnet in Canada starting at 8:00 p.m. ET/5:00 p.m. PT.

1 – UFC on FX 5 is the first UFC event to take place in Minneapolis since UFC 87 on Aug. 9, 2008.

2 – Of a combined 29 professional wins, Travis Browne and Antonio Silva have finished 25 opponents by knockout or submission.

3 – The winner of John Dodson vs. Jussier Da Silva will fight Demetrious Johnson for the UFC flyweight championship.

4 – Dennis Hallman has 46 more professional fights than his opponent Thiago Tavares.

5 – After starting his career 13-0, Diego Nunes is 4-3 in his last seven fights.

6 – Jay Hieron and Jake Ellenberger will have a rematch of a June 3, 2006 bout. Hieron won by unanimous decision.

7 – Travis Browne is the only undefeated fighter on the card.

8 – There are six fighters on the card with at least 30 professional fights. Four of those fighter have at least 40 professional fights. Three has at least 50 professional fights and two have at least 60 professional fights.

9 – Aaron Simpson has fought to a decision in six-straight fights. His opponent, Mike Pierce, has fought to a decision in four-straight fights.

Bart Palaszewski, Jake Ellenberger and Josh Neer are tied for the most (T)KO victories (17), Hallman has the most submissions (40) and Carlo Prater leads the card in fights won by decision (11).
