UFC 149 Results: Post-Event Facts Wrap

UFC 149: Faber vs. Barao went down last Saturday night in Calgary with Renan Barao defeating Urijah Faber via unanimous decision to win the interim bantamweight championship of the world in the main event of the evening.

There were plenty of notable facts to come out of the event, so be sure to check them out below:

1 – Renan Barao became the first interim champion in the history of the UFC bantamweight division.

2 – With 11 UFC victories, Cheick Kongo has the second most wins in the history of the UFC heavyweight division. Frank Mir leads with 14.

3 – Brian Ebersole had his 11-fight win streak snapped by James Head. The defeat was also Ebersole’s first UFC loss.

4 – Matt Riddle earned his first career submission when he defeated Chris Clements via arm-triangle choke.

5 – Ryan Jimmo tied the UFC record for fasted knockout with his seven-second KO of Anthony Perosh.

6 – Six fighters on the UFC 149 fight card suffered their first UFC defeat.

7 – All three of Hector Lombard’s losses are by decision. Lombard has never been finished in 36 career fights.

8 – Urijah Faber is 0-4 in his last four championship opportunities.

9 – Anthony Perosh suffered his first loss since dropping to the light heavyweight division.

10 – Renan Barao joins UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo, middleweight champion Anderson Silva and heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos as Brazilian fighters that currently hold UFC titles

11 – Tim Boetsch is undefeated as a middleweight at 4-0.
