The Ultimate Fighter 16: Episode 6 “One MIssion” Quick Results

The sixth episode of “The Ultimate Fighter 16” aired tonight on FX and featured the fifth of eight round-of-16 elimination fights.

This week’s bout saw Team Carwin’s Eddy Ellis take on Team Nelson’s Colton Smith.

Going into tonight’s episode, coach Shane Carwin and his team lead the competition 3-1 after Team Carwin’s Igor Araujo defeated Team Nelson’s Nic Herron-Webb by majority decision in the fourth round-of-16 elimination fight.

Team Carwin retained control of fight selection and looked to extended lead in the competition by winning their fourth bout in a row.

Welterweight Bout: Colton Smith (Team Nelson) def. Eddy Ellis (Team Carwin) via Majority Decision

With Smith’s win, Team Nelson rebounds from a two-fight losing streak and are now behind in the competition by a score of 3-2. Team Nelson takes control of fight selection and will attempt to even the competition at three wins for each team on next week’s episode.

New episodes of “The Ultimate Fighter 16″ air every Friday night at 10:00 p.m. ET/7:00 p.m. PT on FX Networks in the United States and Canada.
