Quinton “Rampage” Jackson’s final UFC fight will have to wait a little longer.

UFC President Dana White announced on Tuesday that the former light heavyweight champion is injured and will be unable to compete in his scheduled UFC 153 bout against Glover Teixeira.

“Rampage is hurt and out of UFC 153 RIO. SUCKS!!!!!!” White wrote on his official Twitter account.

Jackson (32-10) has lost back-to-back fights against Jon Jones and Ryan Bader and after a public dispute with the organization, was set to fight the final bout of his UFC contract at UFC 153.

According to Ariel Helwani of MMA Fighting, Jackson suffered an elbow injury. However, the nature and extent of the injury is unknown at this time.

With the event just over one month away, the UFC will likely be able to find a replacement to take on Teixeira at the Oct. 13 event in Rio de Janiero, Brazil.

UFC 153: Aldo vs. Edgar goes down from the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on Oct. 13. The event airs on pay-per-view and is headlined by a featherweight championship bout between Jose Aldo and Frankie Edgar.
