Jon Jones Sentenced For May 19 DWI Arrest
On Tuesday morning, UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones was sentenced for his DWI (driving while intoxicated) arrest which took place in Binghampton, New York on May 19.
The sentencing issued to “Bones” included a $1,000 fine, six-month license suspension, completion of a victim-impact course and the installation of ignition interlocks installed on his vehicles.
“Blessed to still have the full support of Broom County/all my fans and my DWI case officially behind me,” Jones tweeted after his sentencing.
“Moving forward.” he wrote.
The sentencing was handed out to Jones by City Court Judge Daniel L. Seiden, according to pressconnects.com.
Jones was arrested by police at 5:02am ET on May 19 after he crashed his Bentley into a poll and totaled the car in Binghamton, New York.
Jones was last seen competing at UFC 145 where he defeated heated rival Rashad Evans by unanimous decision. The 24-year-old is scheduled to defend his light heavyweight championship against Dan Henderson at UFC 151 on September 1.
