Dana White Says Champ Jon Jones Suffered No Nerve Damage To His Arm In UFC 152 Win Over Vitor Belfort
Jones, who defended his belt for the fourth consecutive time with a third-round submission of Belfort at UFC 152, feared severe damage to his arm after a tight first-round armbar by Belfort caused pain for Jones during and after the fight, which took place at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Canada.
In a question and answer session with a group of reporters following the UFC on FX 5 post-fight press conference in Minneapolis, UFC President Dana White was asked for an update on Jones’ health and stated the champion has met with medical professionals and will make a full recovery.
“Jon’s great,” White said of the 25-year-old. “(His arm) is fine.”
While it appears White hasn’t talked to Jones personally, the UFC boss has been in constant communication with the camp of Jones and all the updates he is getting are positive in nature.
“…I’ve been talking to his people daily and it sounds like it’s good.”
White offered no timetable or possible opponent for Jones’ return to the octagon.
