Brad Pickett vs. Eddie Wineland Scheduled For December’s UFC 155

Match ups of high relevance continue to pile up on the UFC’s year-end fight card as a bantamweight bout between Brad Pickett and Eddie Wineland has been added to UFC 155 in Las Vegas.

The two fighters, who both earned post-fight bonuses last time the stepped in the cage, are ranked among the top contenders at 135-pounds, and on Dec. 29 one will continue to climb the ranks while the other suffers a major setback in their quest towards the title.

UFC officials announced the bantamweight match up earlier this week.

Pickett (22-6) is riding high on the heels of a first-round knockout of Yves Jabouin this past month at UFC on FUEL TV 5. The British fighter is 2-1 in his three appearances under the UFC banner and has won post-fight bonuses in both of his victories. The 34-year-old has fought all of his UFC bouts overseas and will travel stateside to fight for the first time since joining the organization.

Wineland (19-8-1) earned started his UFC career with an underwhelming 0-2 record, but scored his first octagon victory in dramatic fashion at UFC on FX 3 when he knocked out Scott Jorgensen in the second round. The 28-year-old is one of the most powerful strikers in the world at 135-pounds as 10 of his 19 wins come by (T)KO including knockout finishes in his last three wins.

UFC 155: Dos Santos vs. Velasquez II goes down Dec. 29 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV. The main event of the evening will see Junior Dos Santos attempt to make his second heavyweight title defense against former champion Cain Velasquez.
